CD Zarramonza 0-1 CD Oberena

Oberena successfully retained the Copa Navarra this evening, with a 1-0 win over Zarramonza.

A 35th minute strike by Mario Ganuza sent the manguiverdes into the National Phase of the Federation Cup.

CD Oberena 1 - 0 CD Valle de Egues


Season 2009/10 started well for the manguiverdes yesterday, with a 1-0 home win in the Copa Navarra.


A goal from Marculeta in 9 minutes was enough to seal the win, and Oberena need only win their next group game against CD Zarramonza on the 19th to progress to the next round.

CD Murchante 1-1 CD Oberena


A goal five minutes from time from Remacha, (pictured), was enough to salvage a point for Oberena today.


The manguiverdes battled hard all game, despite losing a goal in the seventh minute, and thoroughly deserved the equaliser.

CD Oberena 3-0 CD Huarte

Two goals from Zabalza, (above), and a third from captain Ruben Gil, capped a solid performance from Oberena today.

Against a Huarte side which has slipped further down the table in recent weeks, the manguiverdes never looked in trouble, but found the visitors a hard nut to crack. The first goal from Zabalza came in the 70th minute, with the second, a penalty, three minutes from time. Gil's strike came three minutes into injury time.

Oberena and Izarra shared the points in an entertaining draw in Pamplona today. Thirty points separated the sides, but the manguiverdes more than matched their opponents.

Oberena were held to a 1-1 draw by Mendi today, despite controlling most of the game. The manguiverdes scored in the 41st minute through Markuleta, but an equaliser in the second half gave Mendi a share of the points.

Oberena made the trip south to face River Ega in Andosilla. The manguiverdes fell behind to two quick goals within the first 11 minutes, and despite Zabalza pulling a goal back in the 16th, the home team scored again to keep all three points.

After a poor home performance last week, Oberena signed off 2008 with a comprehensive 5-1 away win over Lagunak.


The manguiverdes made the trip to Baranain, desperate to ensure that they would not become the first team to lose there this season.


Goals from Zabalza (27th) and Remacha (29th) put Oberena in the driving seat at the break, further goals from Zabalza (72nd) and Remacha (88th) and Zubillaga (90th, pictured) sealed the victory, despite Lagunak scoring a consolation in the 89th.

In the first of three upcoming derby games, Oberena lost to cross-city neighbours Txantrea 2-0 today.


Goals in the 58th and 67th minute were enough to win the points, in a game where chances were few.

After the midweek thrashing of Aluvion, it was back to reality for Oberena today, and a 3-0 loss to Tudelano, above.


Goals in the 30th, 35th and 64th minutes won the points for the Ribera club, and put them into fourth place in the league.

Jornada 16


Result of the night, was the 7-1 thrashing of Aluvion by Oberena in Pamplona. A fantastic result for the manguiverdes which moves them up to 13th place. There were 2-0 home wins for Lourdes and Izarra, over Txantrea and Tudelano respectively, while River Ega won by the same score at home to Idoya.


Leaders Peña Sport won 4-0 at rivals Murchante, San Juan won 2-0 at Azagresa, and Lagunak picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at Mendi.


Ardoi had a comfortable 3-1 win against Aoiz, Huarte stayed in the hunt for promotion with a 1-0 win over fellow challengers Mutilvera, and Cirbonero beat Valle Egues 3-0.

CD Oberena 7-1 CD Aluvion


Oberena produced the result of the season so far, tonight, with a comprehensive thrashing of Aluvion.

Winning 1-0 at the break, thanks to a 6th minute Fermin Remacha goal, no one could have possibly imagined what was to follow in the second half.


Goals from Zubillaga (46th) and Remacha (49th) put the manguiverdes into a 3-0 lead, before Aluvion pulled a goal back in the 52nd. Further strikes from Remacha (62nd), Varea (69th) , a Barbero own goal (75th), and a final strike from Varea on the 90th minute, sent the Oberena fans home happy.

Jornada 15


It was business as usual for the top-of-the-table teams at the weekend, with Peña Sport winning 2-1 in Tafalla against Huarte, Izarra beating Aluvion 2-0 in Cascante, Mutilvera chalking up a 3-1 home win against Ardoi, and San Juan winning 2-0 in Pamplona against Cirbonero.


In the Tudela derby, Lourdes won 1-0 away to Tudelano, Txantrea won 2-0 in Pamplona against Mendi, and Oberena scored an equaliser with two minutes to go to win a share of the points at Aoiz, 1-1.


Lagunak again failed to win their first home point, losing 1-0 to River Ega in Baranain, Idoya won 1-0 at home to Azagresa, and Valle Egues lost 2-1 at home to Iruña.

R I P Mikel Laboa.


The famous Basque musician, Mikel Laboa died this morning at approx 5am.
Born in Pasaia in 1934, he was one of the most respected Basque figures, due to his passion for revitalising and modernising the Basque oral tradition.
He created the soundtrack to Julio Medem's film, La Pelota Vasca, and performed with Bob Dylan in Donostia in 2006.

CD Aoiz 1-1 CD Oberena


Luck finally shone on Oberena today, when they returned from Aoiz with a share of the points.


Despite trailing to a 53rd minute goal, the manguiverdes maintained the pressure on a strong Aoiz side, and were rewarded when Javier Mediavilla, (pictured) equalised two minutes from time.


The result means that Oberena lie in 15th place, with 17 points from 14 games.

Jornada 14



Peña Sport opened up a gap of five points between themselves and second placed Izarra, after a 3-1 away victory over Ardoi, while the team from Estella were being held to a 0-0 home draw against Aoiz. Mutilvera moved into joint second, after a 2-1 away win in Pamplona against Oberena.
In Paterñain, Iruña entertained San Juan in a 1-1 draw, Mendi and Tudelano shared the spoils 0-0, and Huarte saw off the challenge of visitors Murchante, 3-1.


In Tudela, Lourdes lost 1-0 to Aluvion, River Ega triumphed over Txantrea, 4-1, and Cirbonero beat visitors Idoya 1-0.


Lagunak continue to struggle, following a 2-0 defeat to Azagresa.

CD Oberena 1-2 CDU Mutilvera


In a fast-paced, exciting game in Pamplona today, Oberena went down 2-1 to third place Mutilvera. Despite the result, the manguiverdes played well and showed plenty of fight, which bodes well for the rest of the season.


Mutilvera went in front in the 3rd minute through Asier, but Fermin Remacha equalised a minute before half-time. Oberena matched their opponents until the 76th minute, when Juan Luis scored the winner.

Jornada 13



Lagunak's horrendous home record continued, with the Barañain side losing 2-0 to Cirbonero, which means they have still to pick up a single point on their own ground. Across the city, Txantrea won 1-0 against newboys Azagresa, while San Juan won by the same score against Valle Egues.




Tudelano and Peña Sport both recorded 4-0 home wins, over River Ega and Oberena respectively. Second-placed Izarra notched up a comfortable 3-1 win at Mutilvera, and Aoiz continued to impress, winning 3-1 at home to Lourdes.




Three games ended all square. In Cascante, Aluvion drew 2-2 with Mendi, Murchante and Ardoi drew 1-1, and Idoya and Iruña played out a scoreless game.

Oberena travelled south to Tafalla in hope, but returned minus the points, having conceded four goals into the bargain.


In what was always going to be a difficult game against a side which could end up being promoted as champions, the manguiverdes went in at the break 2-0 down, and lost a further two in the second period.

Jornada 12


There were 3-0 home wins for three teams this weekend, with Iruna, Mendi and Valle Egues triumphing over Lagunak, Aoiz and Idoya respectively.


In Pamplona, Oberena had a 1-0 win over Murchante, as did Aluvion and Txantrea who won away to River Ega and Cirbonero respectively.


Leaders Pena Sport were on the end of a rare 3-1 defeat at Izarra, while Ardoi and Huarte, Azagresa and Tudelano, and Lourdes and Mutilvera, shared the spoils in 1-1 draws.

Oberena left it late to take the points against a stuffy Murchante side today.


An 81st Zubillaga strike was the difference between the sides, in a game watched by only 120 spectators.


Another pleasing aspect, was the appearance of Nacho Borda, pictured, who replaced Diaz de Rada in the second half.

Jornada 11


Peña Sport picked up three more points at the weekend, with a 2-0 home win against Lourdes, while the other Tudela team, Tudelano, won 3-1 at home to Cirbonero.


Lagunak's poor home form continued, as Valle Egues won 2-0, and across the city, Txantrea and Iruña played out a 0-0 derby draw.


In Cascante, Aluvion won 1-0 against Azagresa, as did Huarte, at home to Oberena.


There were away victories for Izarra, 2-1 at Murchante, and San Juan, 1-0 at Idoya.


Mutilvera and Mendi shared the points in a 1-1 draw, and Aoiz continued to improve, beating River Ega 4-0.
